Dr. Radu Seicean
He has attended more than 25 specialisation courses (national and international) and training courses in France and the Netherlands. His training has involved performing numerous complicated operations using modern techniques and state-of-the-art technology. After his return home he successfully implemented advanced laparoscopic surgery techniques in his current clinical practice, performing the first laparoscopic operations for colorectal cancer. He performed for the first time in Cluj laparoscopic longitudinal gastric sleeve resection for morbid obesity.
Later he was involved in the development of bariatric surgery, organising a workshop on the subject. He has also been involved in broadening the indications of minimally invasive approach in emergency.
He developed and published, for the first time internationally, a minimally invasive technique for the management of bleeding complications after liver biopsy puncture. He has perfected and applied in current practice modern techniques in surgery of breast cancer and superficial tumours, in surgery of hernias and eventrations, varicose veins, haemorrhoidal disease and anorectal pathology. All these have resulted in patients benefiting from complex, modern treatments. The scientific work is significant.
